Are You ???

This week in my Face Book posts I started sharing about Freedom due to this being 4th of July week. And as the week went on I started posting about prayer, leadership, love and obedience because of what was going in our nation. We were listening to more lies from government officials, more hate crimes were taking place in a couple of major cities in our country and more and more deception. And I thought to myself, how does this all tie together or does it? And the answer is YES it does!

We live in the best country in the world. The United States of America. Freedom came to a people because of the countless sacrifices of our forefathers, settlers and military alike. We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and so on; you know our constitutional rights. This nation was built on Godly principles and on the bible. We were covered and protected by the mighty hand of our heavenly father because we built our nation around Him. Sadly, 240 years later, God is far from this country. We took a freedom, and handed it over to the ungodly. People who do not put God or His ways first. Our government claims that it loves all people and “giving” rights to all mankind. Here’s the problem, the freedoms our government wants to give is NOT of God. Not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. TRUE FREEDOM can only come to those who serve the Lord. Galatians 5:13 (NIV) says this ‘You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.’ The people of our country and or our leaders are trying to give a freedom that isn’t freedom at all; it’s bondage that leads to death! Sin is sin whether a law is passed and says it is legal or not! Freedom was given to us so that we could love one another and to serve one another. 1 Peter 2:16-17 “Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” (NIV)

WOW. We are to enslave ourselves to God. Do what is right by Him; love people (not the sinful nature), respect others and honor our leaders. We honor our leaders; it doesn’t mean you have to agree with the decisions they have made. Our government leaders are trying to pass laws that help support all people even if it’s against the Word of God. This is wrong! "Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed upon him strictly, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of goods or for imprisonment." - Ezra 7:26 (NKJV). No one is above the law of God or our government. NO ONE! We need to love God and when we truly love God we will love others. It is obvious from what is happening around the world that God is NOT in people; that they have not made Jesus Lord! If they did, they would not be lying, cheating, killing and so on! It saddens me to know that our world is falling apart around us. It is getting darker and darker because people are becoming numb to the things of God and more open to the things of darkness. And what is horrific is knowing that people are so blinded by what is happening around them and in them. We need to pray, boldly pray, for our leaders and the people of this world. ALL people! To pray that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way (1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV). I say all people because God loves them ALL. Even the ones that are lost. I shared with someone the other day that yes, we need to love people but we can’t stand for ungodliness. God loves all people and there are still multitudes that are dying and going to hell every day. However, don’t let it surprise you that this is all going on in our world. We are living in times that the bible forewarns us about. But, don’t fear these times, why? Because the Word says…

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. - Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV).

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. … From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. - Revelation 19:11, 15-16 (NAS).

God has made a way! Jesus is his name! He will sit on the throne and He will rule the earth with His Word and He will reign as King of ALL! Isn’t that exciting! But, until that day comes, it is very important that Christians get out there and stand for what is right. To have a voice and Vote! Contrary to what some believe, your vote matters. I’m not going to tell you whom to vote for but, I will say this, make sure the person you are considering are supported by Godly men and women, that they have personally made Jesus Lord. That they want to do right by our nation; to keep it safe and the people too. And finally, that they have learned from past mistakes and have become a better person forging forward wanting to do great things to save a fallen nation.

I’m going to close with this. Are you… Are you praying for all mankind to come to know Jesus? Are you praying for the Pastors of our churches, evangelist, teachers and Prophets to preach and speak truth and not just what they think people want to hear? Are you praying for our government leaders that they may lead with dignity and honesty, that they do what right in the eyes of God and pass laws accordingly? Are you personally standing for truth regardless how popular it is? If not, start doing so today. Make a difference in this world. Be the person that hears; because of them, my life and world is better! Now go and live in the True Freedom that God has given to you!
