Since the shooting in Orlando, I’ve been thinking about the heart condition of mankind in our country and around the world. I first am sad that our world has come to such hatred towards other human beings and secondly, I am concerned for other’s souls and where they will spend eternity.
Our society and sadly, our churches in America, don’t stand for truth anymore. We, “the Church”, need to let others know about the saving grace of Jesus and what that means. One day ALL will be going somewhere for eternity; the question is where?
What I want to share from my heart is we as a society are becoming numb to the things that are happening in the world and find it “normal”. People don’t see sin any longer. People don’t see hatred. People don’t see that burning the American flag isn’t normal. But, not being allowed to pray in schools or before a game, is. Or, how about not allowing to have the Ten Commandments or a Christmas Nativity set displayed at a city building or school. We, as a nation, have removed God from our country and wander why it is falling apart. Even some of our churches aren’t teaching whole truth anymore. Sure it’s fun and exciting to preach on God’s Grace, His Mercy, His Blessings, His Promises, and the life of abundance that He gives to us so freely. That we can have victory and we can overcome; this is ALL true! BUT, what about teaching that He, our God, is also just and jealous and sin is punishable. I think it isn’t being taught because it isn’t “popular”, they don’t want to lose members or they want their churches to grow. However, this does people a disservice. Why? Because, yes, everyone NEEDS to know about God’s saving grace and when you accept His son Jesus as Lord of your life that you then will have an eternal home with Him in heaven. But, does everyone understand that it isn’t just about saying a little prayer, believing Jesus is God’s son; the devil and demons know that and tremble. It’s about the right relationship with Him, it’s about a change of heart and thinking, it’s about repentance of sin, which means to turn from your old ways and become new in Him!
Life on the planet is short and our eternal home is forever. You must want to know where you are spending it. Don’t you want to know the truth? You see, the truth will set you free!
I shared a scripture yesterday on my Facebook video post; Matthew 7:20-23 (NASB) that says; So then, you will know them by their fruits. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many] miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
What is lawlessness? It is iniquity, disobedience, and sin. Who are “them”? Those whom claim to follow Christ. There are many people in our world that think they are going to heaven, that think they are following God; but, they are not! Like the man in Orlando that thought he would go to heaven for doing such a horrific crime in the name of his god. Please know that the God he served is not our God! Hear me, our God; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one and only God. He is a God of love, peace, mercy and grace. He loves us so much that He gave His only begotten son, Jesus as a sacrifice that we may have the choice to accept Him and follow Him so we could have a home with Him forever. Here’s the problem. The majority of people who call themselves Christians don’t really follow Christ! They believe who He is, they believe he rose from the dead but that’s it. They have not died to their flesh and resurrected with Him in a new life. They continue to live the life they did before they accepted Him. When you accept Jesus, your life is supposed to change. You start thinking differently, you start acting differently, you make Him the priority in your life. You serve Him in all that you do. Are we perfect at this? Does this happen overnight? Of course not! We all mess up and make mistakes from time to time. It’s not about being “perfect”, it’s about a lifestyle. He changes you from glory to glory into His likeness and image; little by little, day by day. If you don’t see change in you; if you are still acting as you acted 5 years ago, 1 year ago, 1 month ago… you would have to question yourself, ‘did I really make Him Lord over my life?’
I don’t say all this to scare you, I say all this because I care, because I don’t want you to be deceived. The enemy is very sly and wants to deceive as many as he can. Don’t be one of the ones he does. We are living at a time in history where the things of this world are growing more wicked and people don’t even see it because they have been programed to believe the lie of the enemy. If your life is contrary to God’s word, ask Him to help you with the change that needs to take place. Let your life be a reflection of a God that loved you so much that your life is better because of it. If we really understood the depth of the love Christ has for us, we couldn’t or wouldn’t do or say half the things that we do.
I pray God convicts your heart, I pray that you truly understand just how much God loves you, I pray that your life will be a testimony to who He is and I pray that the enemy doesn’t deceive you and that you are not caught living a life of lawlessness and that you miss a chance to live eternally with our Lord Jesus!
Until Next Time,
