Don't Stop Before the Miracle

How many times do you think people stop before they reach their goals, live their dreams, or see their miracles? I believe it happens more often, than not! Many of us have goals in life; whether that be to own a successful business, to have a life changing ministry, to be a star athlete, to lose weight or be fit and then there are those who are waiting on the prayer to be answered; a sickness to be healed, an addiction to be delivered, a marriage to be restored, a loved one to be saved, the homeless to have shelter, the poor to have supply; there are just too many to write down. What I know is this, we all have something we are waiting for. And, what I have found is that, it is in the waiting that we become strong and when obedient we will see the manifestation of our goals, dreams and or miracles come to pass in our lives.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” It is truly in the waiting (trusting) in God that we are renewed. He is giving us the strength to endure what needs to be endured.

There is a story in the bible in, Joshua 5 & 6, that shows us just how important it is to listen to the Lord. Here were a people that wandered around in the wilderness for 40 years! Their forefathers were promised by God for a land flowing with milk and honey, a land that was promised to them by God himself and they died in the wilderness NOT receiving what God had promised them. Why? Because of Fear and disobedience! It took the next generation to take the promises of God by force. It took the next ‘commander & chief’, (Joshua) to lead the people out of the wilderness and into the promise land. But how did he do that? What did he do differently than the leaders before him? He was OBEDIENT to what God was telling him. In the story, it tells us of an angel appearing to Joshua and giving him instructions, one of them being to march around the city once a day for 6 days. Now, what makes me smile here, is that do you really think God needed them to march around for six days? God is God! He could have saved them and delivered the promise land into their hands in a miraculous second. But He didn’t. Why? BECAUSE HE WANTED THEIR OBEDIENCE!!! Joshua led His people by the guidance of the Lord. He did exactly what God told him to do and because of that… He and the others got to see the promise God had given them. Again, why did their ancestors NOT see it? Because of complaining and disobedience.

I think the same is true today in our lives. We see the promises of God in the bible about healing, we hear God whisper a dream in our hearts about a new business, we have a goal of being a star athlete, etc. but, some never see those things come to pass. Why? Because, they are not being obedient to what God has told them to do, they have not stood on the Word of God, they have waivered and doubted, they have not believed, they complain and become ungrateful and they forget all that God had done for them already and they forget that He would not forsake them this time either.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

What is the “them” in your life? Is it a bad report from the doctor, is it speaking to people or in front of a crowd, is it rejection or low self-esteem, is it an addiction or relationship issue? Whatever “they” are, you don’t have to fear them. God is there, right beside you! He will guide you, He will fight the enemy for you. All you have to do is be obedient to what He tells you, stand of the promises that He gives you and REST (trust). He will battle for you!

2 Chronicles 20:15 says, “This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.”

I love that scripture! It reminds me that no matter what I am going through… IT IS NOT MY BATTLE! God has “it”, in the palm of His hand. All I have to do is what He asks of me. How simple is that!

I don’t know about you but this brings on a whole new kind of peace that only God can give. So the next time you are in a battle, staring at the enemies in front of you; just listen to God and know HE IS THERE! He does have a perfect plan for your life, He has promises that He wants to fulfill in you and through you and He wants you to have victory at the end of every obstacle; just listen to His voice above all others and watch everything unfold.

I’m going to close with this, “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14

Until Next Time,

Kim
