Hope in your Wilderness!
I believe that many are facing hardships, sadness, illness or depression. If you aren’t now, trust me, you will at one point in your life. I know that sometimes you think to yourself, “how do I function, how can I go about my day?” But, you do! You get up day after day pushing through or for some, you are just going through the motions. Life can be tough sometimes because of the situations that arise that can make the hours in the day seem unsurmountable.
But I also know that no matter what we face we can push through to the other side with God's help! Even if you feel lost and alone; like you have no one to count on... YOU HAVE THE LORD! We need to keep our hearts on Him; believing and receiving the healing that needs to take place in the situations that we face. Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” JESUS UNDERSTANDS! And, He commands us to approach His throne with boldness!
When we are in the Wilderness place or the desert or dry places in our lives, that is when we have to consciously make a decision to get up and press on! Paul says in Philippians 3:14 (NASB) “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” We need to press on! We need to move forward to the things of God.
We can’t count it strange when we are faced with things, Jesus himself was attacked and mocked. Even 1 Peter 4:12 (NLT) tells us “Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.” The author is letting us know that ALL go through things. You are not alone. What’s important is what you do with the trial. How do you handle these situations in your life?
We need to pray and seek the Lord for the answers we are looking for. We need to find a scripture that relates to our personal thorn and meditate on it, speak it and stand on the promise it gives us until we see the manifestation of that promise!
Know without a shadow of doubt that God is or will use this "place" in your life to bring you to a new and higher level in Him! He is always faithful to take the dry places and use it for a purpose in the purpose and plan He has for you. So, stay trusting and obedient towards the Lord and watch a stronger you unfold with God by your side.
I’m closing with Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Until Next Time,
Kim
