Overcoming by the Cross...

I know from personal experience that we all go through some “stuff”. I’ve been through heartache, financial stress, physical pain and ailments, emotional issues, rejection, betrayal, etc. and what I have found is this; I could not have conquered them or overcame those situations in my life without the Lord being in my life. He was my comfort, He held me, guided me and talked with me. The joy that I had in Him was the strength that provided me to get through those times. And He too, is the joy in the midst of your storm and His very joy is your strength also (Nehemiah 8:10 KJV).

No matter what you are going through, Jesus has already overcame it at the cross. Jesus took on every sin, every weight, and every hindrance and placed it upon Himself (Isaiah 53:4) and spared us of what we deserved that we may be righteous in His sight (2 Corinthians 5:21). He hung on that cross, He said it IS finished! The death and resurrection of our Lord took care of everything for us! He was nailed to the cross along with everything we would ever have to face so we could walk in victory in Him and live as overcomers in this life time and the life to come. 1 John 5:4 (NIV) says, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” And 1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV) says “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God has given us all authority in Him to walk out our life speaking His word, in Jesus Name, to the situations in our lives. His Word is our weapon! And, Jesus is the authority! We need to speak to the mountains in our lives to overcome them (Mark 11:23). When we speak in faith and do not waver and stand firm, Victory will come to pass in our lives. Is it easy to stand? NO WAY! It can be a fight just to stand but that’s what we must do; that’s what we are called to do. You see, the enemy is out to steal our faith. If he can steal our faith, he thinks he won the battle. We are in constant war and the battle is in our minds. We need to take authority over our thought life, take it captive. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds,

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)

We MUST get into His Word, learn His Word and know His Word so when things come up against us we have our weapon ready for the fight! Yes, Christianity is a fight BUT we get the easy part… we just have to stand and God fights the battle. In 2 Chronicles 20:15 it says “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.” (NIV) The battle is the Lords! He fights it for us! I truly believe when we try and take on the battle ourselves, without the Lord, that’s when we get ourselves into trouble. But remember always, the war has already been won at the cross; we just have to stand in the midst of the battles to receive what has already been won for us! Stand firm and overcome with Him!

Until next time,

Kim
