Spring Ahead

     Spring is finally here. Warm weather is around the corner, flowers are starting to bloom, trees are getting buds and the sound of birds chirping and singing makes my heart smile. Spring is a time of new birth. We also have a chance of "rebirth", for new beginnings! God gives us that each and every day, not just in the spring time. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." And, Isaiah 43:17 says "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." What is your desert place? Or, do you find yourself in a wilderness season in life? No matter where you are at or what you may be going through, God has something new He wants to spring forth in you. He has a new thing He wants to do in you and through you. Are you listening? Can you hear His still small voice among all the noise in this world. Above the voice and opinion of others? God desires our full attention, a real and authentic relationship with you. He wants to walk with you and talk with you and spend your days with you. He is there to celebrate the joyous occasions in your life but He is also there to comfort and guide you. So, lets think about how the season of Spring can bring forth new things in our lives by the hand of God! Allow Him to speak to the innermost part of you. Feel the auction of His Holy Spirit direct you. Step out in faith to do and say the very things He is calling out for you to do. Be that special someone who may need a friend, be that volunteer that your community or church may need, be the ear someone needs or the shoulder to lean on. Be the helping hand or gift someone something that they need or a desire of their hearts. God working through us doesn't have to be this "grand" thing, YES, it can be But, it is also in the very small things, things we think aren't significant, that truly are! It is those little things that people need and notice. A simple smile or sharing some joy can be something that makes someone's day. Be that person that when they see you they know you are different because you make them feel different and because down deep they know there is something special about you. That something different, that something special is Jesus on the inside of you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." See, when we trust Him and trust that we know His voice, we can allow Him to direct and guide us into all truth, all change and in becoming and doing as He sees fit for our lives!

     I'm going to close with this scripture that speaks about how blessed we are when we obey the voice of the Lord...  “

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you . And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many

nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

- Deut. 28:1-14

     Hearing the voice of the Lord and obeying His commands is where your true blessing is. Whether the command is to Love Him and Love others or the daily commands He gives to us. Regardless, blessings follow us when we follow Him.

     Allow this season of spring to be a spring board of more Jesus and less of you in your life. Allow this season of new birth, birth something new in you. Allow the creator to create new and exciting things in you and through you so that the change in you can bring change to the world.
