THANKSGIVING AND GRATITUDE...
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year simply because I get to remember all the various things that I have been blessed with throughout the past year. Even when the times may have been troubling or trying, there is always something to feel thankful for. I know personally, that even in the midst of trying times I am most grateful for God’s strength that sustains me and His peace that fills me. Whether good, bad or difficult times, there is so much to open your heart to thanks and something to rejoice for.
What about for life itself, for the air you breathe or having a roof over your head or a bed to lye your head or how about food to eat or a job to go to. For many, those things that I mentioned aren’t! They wander where their next meal is coming from, or where they may sleep that night or they think about what they can get that is warm so they can fill their tummy.
We take so much for granted at times. The love and support of family and friends. An unconditional love of a heavenly daddy that embraces us even in our most troubled or saddest of days. He is there with a warmth that you can’t describe. He is there with an ear to listen. He is there to provide for your every need. He is there is guide you back on course when you fall off. He is there to cheer you on and encourage you to do better in this life He has given you. He is there to promote you and crown you with His glory and to fill you with His very spirit. I would have to say that we have so much to be thankful for!
Look inside yourself this Thanksgiving season and find those things to be grateful for even if you are in the midst of a storm. Know that a life of gratitude will bring a life of pure joy! Remember, JOY can be yours regardless of your circumstances. Joy is internal and eternal, happiness is based on circumstance. Let us all quit looking to be “happy” and start desiring Joy through gratitude!
I will close with Psalm 9:1 “I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and I pray your day be fill with the very goodness of our heavenly daddy!
Until Next Time,
Kim
